At Stohlquist we introduced the first ever drytop and front entry for paddling 20 years ago. Since
those times, our focus on design is strong: to build the gear that will make boating safer, more comfortable
and more fun. We use the most advanced materials, machinery and construction techniques
taking years of R & D & on water testing to develop and refine.
We have found using adhesives alone to affix latex wrist and neck seals to the garment quickly
breaks down the material and causes premature failure, first noticed as rubber checking. We offer
improved results with a better attachment method developed long ago to achieve a more reliable
watertight seal, and prolonged life of the latex material and eliminates over stressing of the gasket by
the user as commonly experienced using alternate construction methods and materials. All seams
are double stitched. All waterproof gear gets taped to seal needle holes, and adds additional strength
to seams. High wear and high use areas get extra layers, and a generous supply of bar tacs assure
a predictably long seam life.
